About The Book

Ian West is in pain. 4 years after being petrified by a cockatrice, he still has debilitating nightmares about the experience and still feels pain flare-ups every once in a while as if he were petrified once more. Now a sophomore in college, he dreads feeling like this is going to be his life forever until he learns in his Folklore class that faerie magic has the opportunity to take memories away. When his Folklore professor gives him an opportunity to actually meet with a faerie, he knows he needs to act on it if he wants things to change, but he’ll need help.

Caroline Belle is exhausted. 4 years after losing her mother in a cockatrice attack and being on the tail end of a devastating faerie curse, she’s become a monster hunter to make sure other people don’t run into the same issues. When she’s not hunting monsters, she’s trying to take care of the kid Ian stuck her with before he bailed. So when he shows up at her place asking for her help with a creature, she’s surprised but willing to help, even if he’s not being entirely truthful as to what he wants the help for.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing more uncooperative than faeries… except maybe humans. In the process of Ian getting what he wanted, they managed to piss off both. Now they need to fix their grievous mistake and work together as best as they can without giving up the things they want. If that’s even possible when the fae tend to go straight for the heart with their deals.
